In keeping with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) standards for commercial support, AABB asks everyone who is in position to control the content of a continuing medical education activity to disclose all relevant financial relationships with ineligible companies. The ACCME defines an “ineligible company” as any entity producing, marketing, re-selling or distributing health care goods used on or by patients. (Providers of clinical services directly to patients are not commercial interests). A relevant financial relationship is a relevant financial relationship in any amount occurring within the previous 24 months. Relevant financial relationships reported by faculty will be disclosed at the beginning of all continuing education activities.
