Mentorship plays a crucial role within the AABB community, helping to ensure the next generation of leaders in blood and biotherapies are prepared for challenges and ready to support advancement of the field.
Are you ready to take your career to the next level or make a significant impact on someone else's journey? Whether you're a seasoned professional looking to share your wisdom or an aspiring leader eager to learn and grow, we welcome you to apply to be a part of the AABB Mentoring Program.
The AABB Mentoring Program pairs experienced AABB members (with more than 5 years experience in the field) with colleagues who have worked in blood banking, transfusion medicine or biotherapies for less than five years. The six-month informal program provides a way for experienced AABB members to share their expertise, expand their professional network and engage in an exchange of ideas with early-career members.
“I have enjoyed helping and sharing my experience in the biotherapies field and finding ways to inspire mentees. Mentoring also gives me the opportunity to collaborate, help and exchange ideas with scientists from all over the world.”
-Vasiliki E. Kalodimou, BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD, CABP(H)

“As a mentor, I have the opportunity to share my experiences with others and provide feedback, advice and encouragement. I also get the opportunity to guide, empower and motivate my mentee to reach their full potential. It can help them develop new skills, gain confidence and overcome challenges they may face along the way.”
